The Neighborhood Traffic Calming Process - Step 1 -- Report the Problem - Step 2 -- Neighborhood Consensus - Step 3 -- Data Collection - minimal criteria for: - Excessive Speed, 85% of the vehicles > 32 mph - or Excessive Volume, > 1000 vehicles / day - If so go to Step 4 - Step 4 -- Stage 1 Traffic Calming (reversible, low cost) - Radar Speed Trailer Deployment, Enforcement Actions - Signage and Pavement Markers - Step 5 -- Follow-up Data Collection - speed? volume? - Step 6 -- Stage 2 Traffic Calming (permanent engineering projects, Pros and Cons) - Step 7 -- City Council Approval
